Temptation
In the spring of their senior year of high school, a stunningly beautiful, ice-cold girl transferred into Class Nine.
The new transfer student seemed utterly indifferent to everything around her. Ninety-nine percent of her time was devoted to studying, while the remaining one percent was spent looking at Zhao Yujin.
Zhao Yujin was the school's unanimously acknowledged heartthrob, and his name was constantly appearing on the school's academic honor roll.
The story of the icy beauty secretly crushing on the top student and school heartthrob seemed almost too beautiful to be real.
Yet only the two people involved knew that the colder Su Yi appeared when she was around him, the more ruthlessly she would abandon him when she left.
Su Yi saw Zhao Yujin again in the dental department. On the television in the waiting area, gossip about her engagement to a wealthy second-generation heir was playing.
The attending dentist's gaze was dark and menacing, practically radiating murderous intent. Su Yi stood dazed in front of him. He said nothing, and she remained silent as well.
After a long moment, Zhao Yujin sneered, “Are you waiting for someone to carry you up there?”
Su Yi's face flushed. She obediently walked over to the treatment bed and lay down.
That day, Dr. Zhao pulled out one of her teeth.
Later, Su Yi—now bearing the identity of the Jiang family's heir—graciously moved into the apartment opposite Dr. Zhao's and began arranging “chance encounters” with him every day.
“Su Yi, what makes you so sure I haven't forgotten you?”
The back garden was so quiet that only their breathing could be heard. The atmosphere was intoxicating, and they stood at just the right distance for a kiss if either of them lifted their head.
Dr. Zhao maintained his composure and clear-headedness.
“Do you know what you're doing?”
“Flirting with you.”
Su Yi's breath, mingled with the scent of roses, brushed against the tip of his nose. It smelled wonderful.
