In the dead of night, a coffin that was supposed to hold a young girl is found empty. Deep within the dark woods, eerie fireballs suddenly appear, accompanied by the sound of hideously distorted singing. While assisting in the investigation, Xifeng—a self-proclaimed demon hunter—accidentally breaks a 100,000-year-old seal, releasing an Azure Dragon who stubbornly insists on making her his guide.
The Azure Dragon, known as Qingyuan, possesses immense divine power and remains detached from worldly affairs. Having just entered the mortal realm, he unashamedly allows the money-loving, penny-pinching Xifeng—who worries daily about her next meal—to support him through her demon-hunting earnings. Not only does he look down on human food, but his obsession with cleanliness also leads him to constantly criticize the grime she picks up during her battles with monsters.
While the Azure Dragon is worshipped by lesser goddesses like a star among the clouds, in Xifeng's eyes, he is just a sharp-tongued spendthrift whom she would rather cast aside and avoid at all costs.
