Synopsis:
“Take it off.” “Pardon?” “You have to take it off.”
He laughed. Yeon-su raised her head at the mid-low voice tickling her ear. When she looked him in the eye, blinking wide-eyed, his smile faded.
“Isn't that why you came here—to sleep with me?” ‘You came here to bear my child,’ he added quietly. Yeon-su stared at him, biting her lip. Her eyelids trembled. The gaze fixed on her was cold. He called her again: “Lee Yeon-su.”
Yeon-su became the head of her household after losing her father, looking after her sick mother and younger siblings. She receives an absurd proposal upon being summoned by Mrs. Son, the wife of Assemblyman Yoon—a powerful domestic politician and her father’s longtime friend. The proposal is to bear a child on behalf of Mrs. Son’s daughter, Yoon Hye-in, who is the wife of Hae-shin Group’s Executive Director, Cha Tae-geon.
Yeon-su flatly refuses the demand to degrade herself into a "womb-for-hire" rather than a surrogate, but she eventually accepts the offer due to Mrs. Son’s threats involving her sick mother as a hostage. The Cha Tae-geon she finally encounters, however, is a completely different man from the image she had cherished in her heart for a long time.
