His voice was leisurely: "Turn left." Jiang Song’s hand shook with nerves, and she accidentally flicked the right turn signal. The man beside her let out a short, sharp chuckle. "Beautiful." He glanced over sideways, his tone mocking: "You’ve even learned the 'feint to the east while attacking the west' move. Being with me back then was truly a waste of your talents." Jiang Song: "..." ...Dog of a man. For the sake of her license, she would endure.
Later, after finally managing to secure her driver's license, Jiang Song breathed a massive sigh of relief. Finally, she would never have to face Lu Beiyu’s sour face again. But on the first day of her graduate studies, she saw a tall, lean male figure standing next to her dear advisor. She heard he was the advisor’s project partner—not only young and successful but also tall, with long legs and an elite aura. Even from the back, he was eye candy. Except, the more Jiang Song looked, the more familiar he seemed. That was until the young man turned around with casual indifference. With a relaxed expression, he curled his lips into a half-smile at Jiang Song, whose eyes had suddenly gone wide. "What? It’s only been a month, and you already don't recognize me?" Jiang Song: "..." Why was this person always haunting her?
Later, after he repeatedly probed for the reason they broke up years ago, Jiang Song finally lost her patience and blurted out a lie—that she no longer had any feelings for him. In the narrow confines of the car, Lu Beiyu fell silent for a moment after hearing this. Then, his dark gaze fixed unblinkingly on her, deep in thought. After a long while, he spoke calmly, leaning in toward her until the pressure of his presence was overwhelming. "When you say you have no feelings for me, do you mean..." He paused appropriately, looking into her eyes as he spoke softly: "Hugging, kissing, or do—" The last word was muffled by Jiang Song’s hand as she lunged to cover his mouth. Her face was burning red as she yelled in shame and indignation, "Shut up—!" At that moment, her palms were sweating with nervousness.
Later, after some "serious practical application," Lu Beiyu watched her fleeing figure and thought back to how well they had clicked the previous night. He gave a light scoff: "Liar." She clearly still had plenty of feelings. She clearly still loved him very much.
